Honda Motorcycles Gold Wing GL1200
| GL1200I'84 - The Interstate for 1984 was similar to the 1100 cc unit of 1983.
Unlike the 1984 GL1200'84, the Interstate had a full fairing, saddlebags, and trunk. It was
available in three colors: Candy Wineberry Red, Pearl Siren Blue, and Senior Gray Metallic. It
had analog instrumentation rather than the digital instruments of the Aspencade. The radio was
optional.

GL1200I'85 - You will probably notice that the basic Gold Wing (i.e., the one
without the fairing &
bags) was missing in 1985. Honda still fielded three wings, but dropped the bottom model and
added one at the
top. The 85 Interstate was just like the 1984 model except for the colors. There were still three
available colors:
Candy Wineberry Red, Starshine Silver Metallic, and Telstar Blue Metallic. The frame serial

GL1200I'86 - Although the Interstate for 1986 was the entry level model wing,
it was still a good bike
that differed only slightly from the previous two years. A rear fender splash guard was added.
Only two colors
were available: Candy Wineberry Red and Black. The frame serial number in California began
1HFSC1440GA200101 while in the rest of the U.S. it began 1HFSC141XGA200001. The engine

GL1200I'87 - Again the 1987 Interstate was like the previous year. The saddle
changed to a tapered
seat design with 3-stage foam. Two colors were available: Pearly Beige Metallic and Maethyst
Gray Metallic.
The frame serial number in California began 1HFSC1445HA300101 while in the rest of the U.S.
it began
1HFSC1418HA300101. The engine serial number (for both California and the rest of the U.S.)
began: SC14E-2710001.
